September 19th, 2007: England (1)
This is the train/bus station in Bristol.
Bristol is a nice town - I hope to go back at some point to visit friends again - especially since I know more people there now after the conference. I enjoyed having the opportunity to walk up some large hills again... apparently there is a "high mountain" on Texel, which is 15m high - but I haven't found it yet (numerous people have pointed it out to me, but I can't really tell that there is a hill there).
Ok, I'm terribly busy trying to catch up on everything after being gone for a week... I'll try to post more pictures from the England trip soon.

August 28th, 2007: Oudeschild
I finally had my camera with me this weekend when I was in Oudeschild, the small fishing village located on the east side of Texel. There is a nice fish restaurant here, which they took me to when I visited here in 2005... haven't been back since I moved to Texel, but I'm sure that eventually we'll end up there.

Aug. 22nd, 2007: wall o' hay
Other than that, I don't have too much to report. I've been really busy in the lab lately since there are some abstract deadlines and a conference coming up...

August 8th, 2007: cheesecake!
There was a lot of math involved in this baking project with the various conversions between cups, ounces, grams, Celsius and Fahrenheit. The largest pack of cream cheese we could find here was only 200 grams (no large tubs of the stuff available here). In case you were wondering, 40 ounces of cream cheese were required to make two cheesecakes and 28.3495 grams equals 1 ounce...
